Discuss Alfred Hitchcock Presents

Any episodes with Martin Balsam. Any episodes with believe it or not Dennis Day , of the Jack Benny Program. Maybe I will put in more later.

I'll bite. Why should sensitive viewers avoid episodes with these two stars? Day is annoying sure but why would that offend sensitive viewers?

Spoiler below.

I mostly blaming the scriptwriters. The plot had Day trying to kill his nice wife in the episode. And he succeeds in his awful deed and it's sickly all played for laughs! When I watched the episode I had hopes Day's character would be scripted to let her live after all and grow to like her even more. Dreary ending offensively done in fun!

I never once thought Mr. Day was annoying. He was a fine plus to the Jack Benny Program.

Spoiler below again.

Martin Balsam's epic ends with a character successfully committing suicide and shown dead! This may be also be too hard for sensitive viewers.

There was a Stanley Adams ep about a cop who comes to tell a lady that her niece's convict pen pal has escaped from prison. This episode is horribly acted and written and predictable from the start. The worst ep by far of the entire show! But this episode will not offend sensitive viewers it will just thoroughly disgust people who thought 50's and 60' TV had any charm or style.
