Newly sober single mom Christy is challenged when her estranged, overly critical mother returns to her life in the series premiere of this comedy from executive producer Chuck Lorre.

Christy is nervous about going on a romantic weekend getaway with Adam. Meanwhile, Gabriel's wife suspects he is cheating and seeks comfort from Christy.

When Christy gets promoted to manager of the restaurant, she discovers that being the boss comes with its own set of problems. Also, Bonnie has a nemesis in the building who wants her fired.

Christy makes a discovery about what excites her; Bonnie takes her new role as secretary a little too seriously.

Christy and Bonnie try to help Jodi, a teenage addict they met at their meeting.
