Or whatever they will call the new planet. The finale of last season was quite dramatic and emotional. The loving sacrifice of the 100's most noble character, Monty, who somehow managed to navigate the starship to a planet in the Goldilocks zone ... a binary star system. We are left seeing Clarke and Bellamy in tears upon the rising of the second sun. The philosophical question for the viewers: Will humanity get it right this time? Answer: Of course not or you wouldn't have a show. My guess is they will spend some time trying to figure out the nature of the planet and if it is truly habitable. Turmoil will arise on the ship, just as it did the first season when they sent the first 100 down to the surface. When they finally do, I surmise it will be a true paradise, a veritable garden of Eden. Everybody will be happy ... until a cliffhanger at the end of Episode 2 when we discover all is not peachy in paradise. Does the planet have humanoid life? If so, do they see the earthlings as food? How cool would it be if it was a planet rife with dinosaurs-like creatures? Robotic A.I. living in cities under the oceans? Guess we'll have to wait and see.

It’s been awhile since I saw the episode about why the 3rd ship didn’t come back. If it was because of a disaster, how do we not know if the people on that ship didn’t just abandon their orders and doctored the report, then headed to live on the planet and just say to hell with the rest of mankind. They could be an obstacle for E-4 ship’s inhabitants.

I either forgot or was unaware of a missing 3rd ship. Didn't come back? I suppose that plot could work. The "new world" inhabited by a whole new clan of earth refugees. Anyone else here who could elucidate about "the 3rd ship" ?

Here’s what Monty says in the final minutes of the S5 finale. E-3’s mission was not a mining one. They were sent to find an inhabitable planet since Earths resources were depleted. They never radioed back or if they did no one heard it because of the apocalypse.
So they very well could have many descendants living there.

Plausible. This is feeling like deja-vous all over again. Two competing tribes only on a new planet.

Frankly I'm tempted to just stop watching, given that ending. At least it avoids having to wait for the inevitable reset.

Really? I've watched a few episodes now, when does it get good? Because it just seems like a rehash of already finished storylines so far..

To me, it keeps getting better as the season progresses. Lots of twists and turns and "impossible" situations.
