Just a random rant (which I could post in another thread on this board, but I'm doing my bit creating traffic).
As I've mentioned in the title of this thread; I'm not caught up.
Things I like:
- Charles Vane, haha.
- And on a more serious note: The setting
- The costumes
- Flint's unpredictability
- Anne, Max and Jack
- Thomas, James, and Miranda
- A Dutch crew actually speaking proper Dutch
- The way they manage to show that the Man-of-War was a ship to be feared. It looked horrifyingly lethal.
- John Silver's story line
- Vane's predictability
- The realistic first sex scene between Vane and Eleanor
- Both men and women (almost) nude. I think either everyone should show what they've got, or no one.
- Many of the pirates existed (the main cast)
- Flint killing his quartermaster (seeing as I didn't see it coming)
- Miranda's death (I didn't really like her but I didn't see her death coming either...)
- Did I mention Charles Vane?
Things I don't like:
- The violence (I know, comes with the genre)
- Mr. Dufresne
- The British
- Ned Low (those eyes, that voice, the blood thirst)
- Flint killing his quartermaster
- The fact that the nature of the relationship between Sir Thomas Hamilton and James McGraw was so obvious (That I did see coming)
- Hornigold

Ah! Ned Low as a thing you don't like? He's one of my favorite pirates, read his story, he was a real psychopath! http://www.goldenageofpiracy.org/infamous-pirates/edward-low.php I really liked Tadgh Murphy's portrayal of Low, he was badass and menacing. As for the eye, it wasn't make up of something else, Tadhg Murphy really has an artificial eye. I wish the writers didn't have to kill him off after 3 episodes, but I get that you didn't like him. As for Flint being gay, I really liked that plot-twist, even if I thought about him being gay few eps before. Well, if you don't like violence you won't like a scene in S4 that is brutal, I swear to God man, that was brutal.

I guess Murphy played the part really well!
I didn't mind that plot-twist. I also mentioned "Thomas, Miranda and James" being one of the things I liked. I thought is was a shame that it was quite obvious early on. You also said you thought of that a few eps before we were shown what was happening.
Unfortunately, Netflix hasn't aired any episode of S4 yet...
