Seems like I was right, the "bad girl" wasn't really from Ark 3, she and those other "rebels" must have come from Ark 15.
But then why were they apparently in the Ark 3 crew roster? Doesn't seem like they would have been concerned about anyone checking.

The "science" is still crap, but the story isn't half bad.
