That's what Dembe said to Reddington in the episode "The Kilgannon Corporation", before he left for an undercover mission, which might cost him his life.
It's a question, I've asked myself too. What happens when Dembe dies? Who can replace him, someone who is more than a right hand man, more than a loyal friend and can be trusted unconditionally?
Who can replace Reddington's "Light in the darkness"?

Right now I don't see anyone. Of course the writers could create someone from his past and work him into the picture easily enough if they wanted to. But I don't see that happening. I don't think they want to get rid of Dembe, so unless he decides to leave the show that question should be moot.
