well. Goodbye Nik. He was one of my favorite recurring characters.
So who does everyone think killed him? I'm guessing its the guy framing Ressler. The wiki says it was Pete, but, if so why go to the trouble to hide the strangler's face?

Do we know who it is? I watched the latest episodes and if it was revealed, it went way over my head...which happens to me with this show sometimes.

Tom calls Nik asking why he hasn't picked up. Nik says blame your father-in-law (the events of the episode). Tom then asks why isn't Pete picking up. If you remember Pete was the guy Nik introduced Tom to who could work magic so to speak with DNA results. Anyway, Tom worries Pete will screw them over for profit (Tom gave Pete Elizabeth's FBI key to CODIS to help match the DNA), Nik says Pete's place is on the way home so he'll stop by. Tom finishes the call as Elizabeth comes in.
When Nik gets there he knocks but the door is open. It is from here it is intercut with scenes of Liz talking to Tom saying she's scared she's becoming like Red. Meaning what's happening with Nik is happening concurrently with this. So Tom isn't the killer unless he can astral project. lol
Anyway, Nik lets himself in, looks at the computer (presumably whatever was found is on there judging by his intense studying of whatever is on the screen), hands from behind grab him, choke him to death, same hands grabs the suitcase of bones and leaves. We never see the culprit's face, which makes me think Pete isn't responsible but he may know who is hence why he's running.
