Hi, I am an orphan from the IMDB messageboard. Soon a lot of my brothers and sisters will follow hopefully. We like to discuss the puzzles , the Blacklist brings us. Last episodes, it became clear Red is under attack by somebody. Others speculated that it might be Mr. Kaplan or Mr. Kaplan's sister. May be Katerina. I am wondering too who is behind this thread, and strangely, I can only come up with women. My guess is, it is Jennifer. She is mentioned in season 2, and it remaind unsure where she is, or what happened to her. One of many loose ends, so to speak. In season 2 when her name came up, Naomi said to Red:"She knew that one day you would be coming for her...."which sounded kind of omminous. She supposes to be his doughter, and that would not have been the frase I would have used. So my guess is Jennifer has a score to settle with Red and is behind these attacks.

About Jennifer, if she is the one behind all this, what would be her motive? Red abandoning her and her mother or perhaps she is jealous of all the attention and love he gives to Liz?
What about Frank Hyland? Would he have the resources or is he just a minor character?
Even if it is not Jennifer, I hope the writers will tell us more about her.

we know to little about her to know her motives, but that is why she is a candidate. It is one of the loose ends I would like to see solved before the end of the show. Frank is a minor character, I think

I was wondering about Mr. Kaplan as well, but does she have the resources to pull off something like this...the "castration" of Red Reddington?

Maybe she has the resources (stolen from Red possibly), but I don't think she would choose to take revenge at the cost of so much collateral damage. There are people who wonder if Dembe is behind all this, but Dembe too wouldn't be able to take revenge at all cost.

What about the man in the woods who took care of Mr Kaplan?

It was obvious it was Denbe. Not because he disappeared straight from the beginning of tonight's episode, but because he's been wrestling with the fact that Red shot Kaplan. I've been suspicious of him for several episodes, and my suspicions proved right tonight. It will be interesting to see what he has to say for himself IF Red is ever able to catch him. Denbe's very good at what he does, so I think it's going to be incredibly difficult to ever find him.
Now, I missed the majority of the episodes with Kaplan after she was taken to the guy in the wood's cabin. Can anyone please tell me what happened? Or is it still up in the air? Did he ever let her go? Is she alive? Dead?
Thanks.

I remember on the IMDB message boards everyone was in love with the theory that it was Kate. I swear I seemed to be the only one who said "No, it's not her, it Dembe". And its not that Red shot her, for all anyone knows (except Red himself) Red killed her. That's what Dembe is struggling with.
That was resolved a while ago. Her captor was struggling with whether to let her go or kill her, since he doesn't want anyone ever coming to his cabin. When he finally made a decision, he went to her room and she held a knife to his throat, meaning she had escaped her bonds. He said he decided to let her go anyway since he doesn't have it in him to kill anyone. She opted to stay saying she has nowhere to go. Later on they're having soup together in the kitchen. She tells him more about how she wound up with the headwound (minus names and specifics, of course) putting the blame on herself, and comments the soup could really use some crackers.
That was early in the season. We haven't seen more of her cause there's nothing to see, she won't leave unless asked to by Reddington himself, she knows this is penance for her. Betrayal typically means death in Raymond's world, and this is a loophole Red can live with, the world thinking she's dead while she lives out her days here. The thing is I think he will call her to come out of hiding if for no other reason than to show Dembe (and Liz) that he didn't kill her after all. I also think she will act as Raymond's conscience to keep him from killing Dembe.
Mr. Kaplan was never the culprit, but I think she was always meant to be the one who saves the day.

I don't think it is Dembe and I never believed it was Kaplan. Both people won't go to such length and specially cost to punnish or stop Red. They wouldn't choose to kill realtively innocent people to achieve their goal. I think we were made to believe Dembe is behind all this, but if he wanted Red dead, why drop him of at a (emergency)hospital, why leave the car, as a clue behind for Red to find. Dembe knows Red will start to investigate (if he survives). My theory is that Dembe went underground to help Red solve his problems.Because he thinks he can be more effective on his own. I even hope he is with Mr. Kaplan in cahoots, but thats me, the glass half full type, ;)

If it's NOT Dembe, then that will be a twist in itself because most everyone--including me--assumes it is. Red certainly does.
So as far as we know, Mr. Kaplan is still at the cabin?

No the last we've seen of Kaplan is that she left the cabin and was picked up by somebody. A lot of speculation there too. Did she know the person who picked her up? and if yes do we know that person, and where is she now? You're right that we are made to believe Red thinks it was Dembe that poisend him. But this show is very eager to let us believe things. It is too bad we have to wait so long.

Thank you. The last episode I saw with her in it was her having just been "rescued" by that weird guy who chained her to the bed. I'm glad she got away from him. I'm hoping we see her again soon.
As to my comment about her being shot and that's why Denbe poisoned Red, and someone here stating it was because Denbe believes she was killed, yes, I realize that. I chose the word shot over killed because she wasn't killed. Yes, I realize we know this and Red and Denbe don't, but I was coming at it from our side. And the fact remains that she was shot. But my point is, he's wrestling with what Red did to her and it's been tearing him up. So I still believe he's the one who poisoned Red.

BTW, when is the next episode airing? Is it tonight or are they taking a hiatus so people are "forced" to watch the spin-off? Thanks.

The last episode S4E15 "The Apothecary" aired on Thursday February 23. The next episode will air on Thursday April 20. The spinoff "The Blacklist: Redemption" will replace it during the 8 weeks hiatus.
