Which goes back to my earlier post where I said " Worst case scenario he holds the belt for a few weeks and everyone forgets about it"

My only point was that new stars don't get built without giving chances. Between his rematch with Orton and someone having a MITB case I don't see him holding it for a long time. This is the perfect time of the year to test people and see if they sink or swim.

I'd still rather have seen him going through the ranks rather than just getting such a massive win out of nowhere. That being said, Smackdown apparently had an initial spike of 18% the episode after his title victory. Whether he can sustain it or not will give a clear indication if he keeps the title.

They do have capable wrestlers that can hold the title, but I'd rather not see it back on Orton. That was a total....waste. I'm assuming that was his "Thank You" from Vince McMahon for taking the match and the hits that came along with his match at Summerslam with Brock Lesnar.

I find it funny how boring Orton becomes as soon as he gets the title. He's always good on either side of a title run and not so much during them. The good news for the SD title picture is that theres a good crop of guys in the MITB match and we at least know that they arent afraid to leave their comfort zone.

Orton is always boring when they try and push him as a face. He's a terrific heel.

You test people like Sami Zayn or Baron Corbin, who have at least sniffed a main event or world title match on the main roster, who have demonstrated at least a minute ability to get over and have some level of credibility. I'm not a huge Baron Corbin fan, but I would be willing to go along with this if it were him as he's impressed me more than Jinder and at would be far less random.

I'm so sick of this "give him a chance"-no. That's now hot it works. Shawn Michaels said it best: you don't put titles on guys to get them over. You get them over, than put the title on them. No one deserves to be given the benefit of the doubt because a title is slapped on them.
