...could have been the greatest thing I've ever seen. Thirteen minutes of boos, and Roman was smug like a motherf***er.

He played them perfectly. THAT'S a worker. Kudos.

It's cringe worthy, actually. Seeing the guy who is meant to be your #1 hero and babyface so clearly disliked by the majority of your live audience.

The one thing I've learned long ago is that the worst thing you can hear in the ring is silence. That crowd was INSANE last night, and that's what one wants. Triple H said something to the effect of the fact that while he may get booed, he gets the loudest reaction and also has the highest merchandise sales. I'd say that's a huge success.

That's true when it comes to getting over period, not when you're pushing someone as the top babyface of the promotion.

He has the highest merchandise sells because he gets the strongest push. Merch sells are largely correlated with whom the company puts the machine behind, and it helps when you've got like 30+ items compared to other guys' 6-10 as well.

But, that demand leads to more merchandise. Same with Cena. They wouldn't be able to produce more merchandise if the demand didn't exist.

Incidentally, every old school wrestler I know LOVED Reigns in the opening segment.

Of course, but it doesn't change the fact that when you have more items, of course you're gonna sell that much more.

But they had to get to that point somehow. Also, if the people weren't buying the merchandise, then WWE would stop selling it.

I'm not surprised, most would kill to that kind of reaction. The only thing I hated about it were the announcers trying to play it off as it being a 'special' crowd - it's basically the typical crowd. It was pretty awesome though, I thought he could have played it off a lot more smugly but it was awesome.

I'm just curious as to how they are going to handle him going forward.

I won't lie. I wanted to kill Roman Reigns when he said that.

Thought that was a great opener for Roman. Probably his shortest promo and yet so effective. Also liked the little touch of when he held his mic to his mouth, received boos again, and so he just referenced his hand whilst mouthing something like "I've got you in the palm of my hands".
