What has happened to this show?

I took a break from watching this and when I returned I could not believe how awful it has become. Gibbs and Ducky look so old and totally implausible in their roles now. Beards seem to be the latest fashion accessory and the supporting actors in the body in the hot tub episode are bad beyond belief. The compulsion to include wacky women continues and only serves to irritate - it certainly does not amuse. They should have quit when Michael Weatherley and Cote de Pablo went - all interest went with them. I have cancelled my series link with much sadness at the demise of what was once first rate entertainment.

I have become a big fan of DVDs (or Netflix). The first two seasons of the show were great. The next two were pretty good. The La Grenouille plotline was absurd, and the more they turned Ziva from a quirky secondary character into Ninja Barbie/Mary Sue Soap/DiNozzo's Heartthrob, the worse it got. I quit following ages ago and only tuned in for "major" episodes; to get caught up a little, I watched an episode or two leading up to Pauley Perette's finale and they were agony to get through.
They should have closed the books about ten seasons ago and ended on a high note. Or a semi high note anyway. It makes me think of the old song "What Have They Done to My Song, Ma?" Bellisario had a rep for being hard to work with--but the end result was better.
