Um Lex zur Rückkehr nach Metropolis zu zwingen, schließt Lionel Luthor das Werk in Smallville. Doch Lex nimmt den Machtkampf gegen seinen Vater auf und versucht das Werk zu kaufen. Auch bei den Kents spitzt sich die Lage zu: Der Journalist Roger Nixon hat Clarks Geheimnis gelüftet, indem er einen Farmunfall inszeniert hat und dann Clark dabei gefilmt hat, wie er seine Superkräfte einsetzt. Jonathan ist jedoch zum äußersten entschlossen, um Nixon daran zu hindern, der ganzen Welt von Clarks Kräften zu berichten. Gleichzeitig zieht ein Sturm über Smallville auf, durch den Lana in Legensgefahr gerät.

Lex is hit with a surprise after his father closes the local Smallville plant to force him back to Metropolis, blaming the plant's failure on his management. Meanwhile Clark prepares for his date with Chloe, reporter Roger Nixon gets wind of Clark's alien origins after setting up an explosion, and Whitney joins the Marine Corps. Lex works with the workers to buy the plant and put it under local management, and his father Lionel threatens to sabotage the efforts by buying up their mortgages. It all comes together when Nixon uses the "key" Lex found (in "Obscura") to activate the spaceship just as three tornados hit Smallville. He flees into the storm with Jonathan in pursuit and Martha left to confront the opening spaceship. The tornado hits Lex's manor and traps Lionel under beam, leaving Lex with a life-or-death decision to make. And Clark arrives to see Lana whisked up into the tornado. (to be continued...)

Clark retrouve la pièce manquante de son vaisseau. Il est donc sur le point de découvrir d'où il vient et sa réelle identité. Pendant ce temps, Lex découvre que son père a fermé la plantation et lui ordonne de retourner à Métropolis...

Lex deve fare i conti con suo padre che ha deciso di chiudere la fabbrica di fertilizzanti di Smallville, licenziando tutti gli operai e scaricando la responsabilità su Lex. Nel frattempo Clark ha chiesto a Chloe di esser la sua dama per il ballo, mentre il reporter Roger Nixon scopre le origini aliene di Clark. Whitney invece decide di arruolarsi nel Corpo dei Marines e organizza un picnic romantico per dirlo a Lana.

Een reporter staat op het punt Clarks geheim te ontdekken. Chloe wil Smallville verlaten. LuthorCorp moet zijn deuren sluiten. Gelukkig kunnen Clark en zijn vrienden op het schoolbal nog enkele zorgeloze momenten beleven. Dan slaat de tornado toe.

Un masivo tornado acercará la sospecha a la cuidad de Smallville, cuando Clark intente buscar una pieza desaparecida de la nave espacial que le trajo a la tierra. Clark activará con destreza esa pieza estropeada, dándole este hecho las primeras claves para conocer su origen , de donde procede. Mientras tanto Lex vivirá dos experiencias que perturbarán su vida; su padre Lionel cerrará la planta y ordenará a Lex que regrese a Metrópolis, además Lex alquilará un reportero sospechoso para espiar las habilidades suprahumanas y la nave espacial que podría estar escondida en el sótano.

Un día bastante desagradable para Smallville, Lionel Luthor le anuncia a los trabajadores de la fábrica que va a ser cerrada y le dice a Lex que tendrá que volver a vivir su vida normal en Metropolis. Whitney le dice a Lana que se alistara para partir con los marines y le pide que lo espere hasta que regrese, algo que hace dudar a Lana y dejarla muy confundida.

Whitney åker iväg till marinen. Lana hamnar mitt i en tornado. Chloes skolbal blir inte riktigt som hon hoppats. En reporter hittar rymdskeppet.

Když se k nic netušícímu Smallville blíží mohutné tornádo, Clark najde chybějící část vesmírné lodi, která ho dopravila na Zemi. Součástka aktivuje vyřazené plavidlo a poskytne Clarkovi první vodítko k tomu, odkud pochází.
