昭和39年（1964年），正从战争的阴影中持续复苏的日本一片祥和，以东京奥运会为象征，经济高速发展的日本上空不见阴霾。距离奥运会开幕两周前，一名被勒死的男子尸体被警方发现。警方根据现场发现的人名录确认了死者身份，并通过蛛丝马迹发现了一个神秘之人野上显一郎（田村正和 饰）。野上是战前日本驻日本大使馆的官员，但他早在战争结束前就已死去。围绕着野上的女儿久美子（比嘉爱未 饰），神秘事件接二连三发生，本该死去的野上更在四周逡巡。当年野上之死的背后藏着怎样的真相，而这一系列杀人事件的背后有有什么隐情……
