For a while they gave Superman his buffed cape attachment on the outside of the neckline giving him this Kirk Alyn look, it would've been fine if the neckline wasn't so low down.

I agree. The cape looked off with the neckline being so low. But I do like the cape they settled with.

The \S/ was close to his abdominal. The cape they finally went with was close to Christopher Reeve with straps under his armpits tucked under his tunic.

It's a little jarring in the first few episodes after the pilot how they keep switching between the capes.

In the third episode they switched to the cape they finally went for and then back to the second cape showing that scene was shot after and not checking if it fits into continuity.

Yeah I remember in the episode Neverending Battle (one of my all time favorites) with the cape changing. It was at its worst in that episode when he visits his parents house and he's standing by the fire place.
