What are some of your own personal "The Wonder Years" moments from your own personal life?

What moments in your own life could you so closely identify with Kevin Arnold and Winnie and the kids growing up and facing in your pre-teens and teenage years?

For me, we kind of got into this on another thread, but when I was about 12 years old I went to camp with about 6 other schools, it was really cool for a 12 year old to be going on a BIG independent trip like this with no parents just friends all your age, and most of girls your age from 6 other towns!

We played all kinds of interactive educational games. Everyone was flirtatious. I remember meeting this really hot brunette during one of the creative games and she was all over me literally lol. Back then it was a lot of dry humping and making out, since no 12 year old was getting laid or anything. But yeah she totally rocked my world! I was actually 12 and she was 13, but she assumed I was 13 as well. Just like many of Kevin's episodes in having flings and promising to keep in touch, but never actually doing that we lost touch with one another.

This was in the early 90's so there was no social media, not even email back then, so your only hopes of seeing her again was randomly bumping into her at the mall. I always hoped I bumped into her again, but I never did. The rest of that summer I was totally consumed by her and couldn't get her off my mind.

Finally a few years later when I was about 14 a kid transferred to my school and he was from her school. I told him to bring his yearbook and he did and I looked her up and she was even hotter than before.

I look back and think wow imagine if I actually really pursued her or if we had social media back then, there wouldn't be a real limitation to re-connecting with her after that big camping trip.

But just like in the Wonder Years, she was one of the many who just got away.

Wow, what great bittersweet stories, with which we may all well relate because Wonder Years stuff happens to many of us from time to time, right?

Yeah, also bullied quite a lot back then, as well.

But, you know, maybe sometimes it's for the better that most of them actually do up and get away because if they didn't, then just think of how that could cause a lot more problems than solutions, right?

VInTinKin ,

Thanks for posting on here. Please share you own personal bittersweet nostalgic Wonder Years stories as well. Lets let it all out and spill our guts it will be a good cathartic, therapeutic positive thing to do.

I also had another TWY story where I was on a cruise in the early 90's. It was some big spring break teen cruise believe it or not. I had this one blonde girl who I met at the dance. She actually had a real sexy body, but she had these glasses on and remember back then in the early 90's girls, well the popular, hot girls didn't wear glasses like they do now as a fashion trend.

They made us play games like dance offs so she was my dancing partner and we did really well. Things got really wild as she started making out with me all of a sudden and just when things were really getting out of control the security kicks us out of the dance hall because the dance was over lol. I looked for her for the next few days but we never saw each other again.

Years later I always thought I'd bump into her randomly somewhere but it never happened, she was from the other side of the country back then.

A lot of my friends back then would say if she just started making out with you that quickly and randomly she probably does it with a lot of other guys too. (They were mostly haters since they didn't meet any chicks that week).

This girl I don't really pine after as much as the chick I was all in love with from the camp story, mainly because the camp story chick came much earlier and had such a first profound impression upon me even to this day.
