During the filming of her very own documentary, 'A Day in My Life', Eddie drops in on her mother who's working in a Help the Aged charity shop. There she reminisces about the people and events which have made her what she is today.

This is the pilot for what was intended to be a new sitcom called Mirrorball. Although it's written by Jennifer Saunders, and includes all of the main cast members from AbFab, as well as some of the supporting cast, the plot and characters in Mirrorball are different, despite many personality similarities to the AbFab characters. After this was filmed, Saunders was inspired to revive Absolutely Fabulous in 2001, and the Mirrorball series was never produced.

The show centers around Vivienne Krell (Saunders) and Jackie Riviera (Joanna Lumley), two aging stage actresses who live in vertically adjacent flats. The two are of questionable talent, and their careers seem to be at a standstill. During the course of the pilot, Vivienne has the opportunity to be cast in a new show but delivers a horrifying rendition of the standard "Send in the Clowns", thanks in part to Jackie's off-kilter advice (Jackie shouts at her from off-stage to "Sparkle! SPARKLE!").

Patsy est désormais la grande prêtresse de « Jeremy's », un nouveau concept de fashion store. Après avoir pris d'assaut la London Fashion Week, elle meurt d'envie d'aller conquérir les États-Unis pour satisfaire sa soif de vêtements tendances et de beaux mâles sexy. Alors qu'Edina essaie désespérément de perdre quelques kilos superflus, sa mère lui apprend que Serge, son fils gay longtemps disparu, vivrait à New-York. Edina trouve là l'occasion rêvée de partir avec son amie délurée de l'autre côté de l'Atlantique et de se lancer à la recherche de son fils un peu spécial... Un épisode délirant où les deux icônes de l'humour britannique côtoient une foule de gueststars.

Edina organise pour la première fois depuis des années le réveillon de Noël chez elle. D'habitude,à cette époque de l'année, elle part avec Patsy en vacances , mais cette fois, Eddy veut montrer l'exemple de sa grande générosité à sa fille et sa petite-fille. Tout le monde semble content, sauf Patsy. Celle-ci est déprimée par ses propres souvenirs d'enfance avec sa mère, une païenne confirmée. Son anxiété est telle qu'elle est bientôt transportée d'urgence à l'hôpital...

Eddy s'est mise en tête de refaire entièrement sa cuisine. Sur le champ, elle appelle ses amis décorateurs Bettina et Max pour qu'ils l'éclairent de leurs judicieux conseils. Mais ils ont beau rivaliser d'ingéniosité, ils n'arrivent pas à la satisfaire. Eddy a alors une illumination. Une thérapie de régression, voilà la solution ! En effet, elle est sûre qu'elle a déjà vu ce qui lui conviendrait, peut-être dans une vie antérieure. Pendant ce temps, Saffy essaie désespérément de mettre Patsy dehors...
