I brought this subject up in a post on the Star Trek board a couple of years ago. I had seen Section 31 brought up as part of the plot in episodes of Star Trek Deep Space 9 and Star Trek Enterprise, but it wasn't until the first two seasons of Star Trek Discovery that I really paid any serious attention to it. Section 31 is part of Starfleet Intelligence (sort of), tasked with protecting the Federation from outside threats by basically any means necessary. I've come to view them as the Impossible Missions Force on steroids. In fact, Section 31 seems to be willing to do things that the IMF might have problems with in order to successfully complete their assignments. Section 31 also has a fleet of starships that are more advanced than the rest of Starfleet, and gadgets/weapons that would make Barney Collier die of envy. The crews of their starships wear black leather outfits, and they seem to be able to get away with misconduct that the IMF wouldn't think of doing.
Thoughts and opinions please.

Now that Section 31 is getting a movie on Paramount Plus starring my girl Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh, I'd REALLY like to do a thread comparing the tactics of Section 31 and the Impossible Missions Force. I'm waiting breathlessly for everyone's responses.
