Since season 10 ended without any final conclusion it might happen. The question is, should they continue with another season? Seasons 9 and 10 were really not that great, in my opinion. Which leads me to ... favorite season? I think the show was wonderful, creative, fun and gripping from season 1 - 7. From 8 on it took a dive. But in every season there was hit and miss episodes. Personally I prefer most of the MOTW episodes from the alien mythology, but I grew to love the show as a whole experience.
This is great, having a new place to chat about movies and TV shows, hopefully without the problems that plagued imdb.
OK, maybe 1 or 2 more short seasons for old times' sake, but more than that may not be a good idea, it's always sad when a show has exhausted all it could give but still goes on as a pale reflection of what it once was.
I prefer the first 6 seasons too, even if I think Robert Patrick did a good job after DD left, but it just wasn't the same thing. I have to admit that Mulder/Scully's relationship is why I love TXF so much and what sets it apart from somewhat similar shows. I love the combination of both motw and the alien conspiracy arc, it made things more diversified and complex and kept me interested much longer.

Right? I´m just settling in, coming to this new haven today. The great thing with this site is much general information about series and movies, so we have both message boards and the usual info, and I´m sure the site will grow nicely. I´ve been to moviechat.org as well, but missed the info part. Right now it´s no option to go there to discuss, and visit IMDb for production info. I am too angry with them still, and deleted my account when they killed the boards.
Robert Patrick did indeed do a good job, and the episode Release belonged to him completely. Very touching, intense episode about Dogget´s deceased son, and finding his killer. I could watch this episode for the music alone.
Right now I feel the tickling urge to spend som time with our friends Mulder and Scully again, on a Field Trip. That is a crazy one :-)
That episode was great, not just the best of the season but one of the best of the whole show. But one of those per season is more than enough, or the whole premise and general feeling of the show is changed and I wouldn't really want TFX to become mostly comedy.

True, one comedy episode per season was all we needed. They were often great though. Bad Blood, the vampire episode of season 5 was funny. And Scully really really having a good time performing an autopsy on the invisible man in Je Souhaite, season 7.

Perhaps when Gillian Anderson can take time off from perfecting her English accent 😉

Agree with all you said. Season 9 was painful. 10 was amusing.

I think it will happen, maybe next year. I hope they go in a different direction though. I only really enjoyed the Wereman episode from season 10.

Yes, the were-man episode was the highlight of last season. And Mulder tripping on Placebo ...

Those episodes you mentioned are indeed awesome. I was neutral on Were-man. I quite liked Home Again and Babylon.
