Discusión The Sinner

*MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD! (don't read unless you've watched the finale of season 2)*

Maybe it's just me, but... doesn't the boy Julian (Elisha Henig) look Middle Eastern, or possibly Mediterranean? I don't know the actual heritage of the actor, but to me he definitely doesn't look 100 % caucasian. If you've seen the finale you know why I ask: he's supposed to be the son of two obviously lilly white people, plaid by lilly white actors (none of which have matching hair, btw, although I realize that's nothing new for 'TV-families')... For a while I was sure his father had been "The Beacon", the Mosswood guru/leader. That actor (Brennan Brown) looks to me like he might possibly have some non-caucasian genes, but even if he was the father I thought the kid looked implausibly "exotic". Now I know who the real father is supposed to be, it just seems plain weird to me. Anyone else?

The father of that child appears capable of siring any race of person. It's really quite impressive.

It is! Super powers all over on TV these days.

I am sick and tired of multiracial families with no explanation given. I thought the child looked to be a different race from his parents. And what was the point of another white father with a black daughter telling his friend out of the blue that she was gay? I guess it ticked another box. In Britain a huge percentage of adverts now consist of multiracial families - intriguingly when the family is white there is always a black person portrayed as part of it but when a family is black there is never a white person portrayed as a family member. Does anyone else find that odd? Every program/film made today seems to have an agenda of pushing multicultural relationships - gay relationships - mental conditions like Aspergers - physical disabilities etc. It is becoming so politically correct as to be unwatchable. Doesn't anyone care about the loss of separate cultures - the histories, stories, myths, art, music being forgotten?
