Once it became about a creepy cult I was in 100 percent. Now did the cop's dad have something to do with the girlfriends disappearance? What a great show. Probably the closest American TV has emulated Nordic Noir type shows like The Killing. A great series 2... and I loved season 1.
I'm having trouble warming up to the kid. I liked him in episode 1 but now he's getting on my nerves. He always has that same furrowed brow expression in every scene.

The whole thing is we have no idea why or how the murders happened and the kid isn't helping at all.
SPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERS
Well we do know how. However, I don't think the kid did it 100% alone, if he had any involvement at all. Something about the stones being placed on the eyes. It seems too ceremonial and since the Mossies (that's what I call them) have all their rituals and hoodoo stuff, I think it was some Mossies at the direction of his mother. Maybe the stones on the eyes had something to do with some sort of death ritual? In ancient Greece they placed coins on the eyes of the dead so they could pay Charon the fee to be ferried to the underworld. Maybe the stones have a connection to the large one they have on their grounds.
I have so many questions I could go on and on lol...
The finale was this week. I must of missed something but I never figured out why Julian killed that couple in the first episode. Was it because Vera had told him to? Because that couple was trying to get Julian away from that cult?
The revelations in the finale were mind boggling. I didn't see the policewoman's father as someone who would do what he did.
This season didn't seem to delve into Ambrose and why he's the way he is as much as the first one did.
I know this was a limited series but I wonder if it will be back.

Julian thought the couple was kidnapping him so he killed them to defend himself. Technically, they were kidnapping him, but unknown to him, they were taking him to Marin.
I think with the reveal of the session of "the work" that happened in the cabin, we find out a lot about Ambrose.
I hope it will be back. This was the second season so hopefully there will be more!
Yeah, it's true that "the session" with Vera was meant to delve more into Ambrose......but all we found out is that is mother was in an institution and that he set the fire that caused that.
As far as there being more, that's up in the air and you never know. They did call this season a limited series too just like the first season. I guess it's all up to Jessica Biel.
Significantly better than the first series, but the murderous kid annoyed the heck out of me. He may have intentionally been shown as unsympathetic and messed up.

He is limited. But it kind of works. The whole thing is we have no idea why or how the murders happened and the kid isn't helping at all.

I may need to go back and rewatch.
