Discuss The Sinner

Wow. Had no idea how good this would be. Wish it was on Netflix so I could binge it.

... Did she look back at her parents before pleading guilty? Or was it her husband?

I believe it was her parents. Cora was contemplating about saying not guilty, then she looked back at her parents (mom especially threw her that evil 'You sinner!' look) and Cora defeated by that look, went with guilty.

Thanks, thought as much. Imagine being shamed all her life to the extent that she thought she belonged in jail even though there might have been a case for extenuating circumstances. But she can still file for an appeal right? Even if she's convicted and sentenced, and the detective finds excruciating evidence, the case must be reopened for new sentencing? Or maybe I've watched too many tv-shows 😄

I can't even imagine....

@Satai Delenn, I'm glad you're ok 😊 this is not a support group but I just want to say that I know exactly what you mean. After 43 years I cut off all ties with my mom and I've never felt lighter.

About Cora, I have a feeling she will start to trust Det. Ambrose eventually. She did hesitate at her plea as if she thought there was a chance, she knows he's investigating. Then my memory is a bit foggy. Did she look back at her parents before pleading guilty? Or was it her husband?

Thanks, yes. My mother throwing me away was actually the best thing she has ever done for me as a mother to a child. She was a horrible mother and held me down my entire life. Everyone who knows me has said that I've totally blossomed this past year and they've never seen me happier. I'm happy because I'm free and I'm finally living for myself and not looking to my mother to see if she's happy so that MAYBE I can be happy. I'm living on my terms now.

Anyway, I'm honestly not sure. I THINK Cora was looking back at her husband. I guess I don't believe she'll trust Detective Ambrose because I don't trust him. I don't like him which is odd for me because I have always liked Bill Pullman and have usually liked the characters he's played. But I think I don't like this character because of that cocky grin. It grates on me and I want to take a brick to him, lol.
