I'm very curious to know where the show is going from season 6. The way the show ended I thought that was the show finale until I went to IMDB and saw that there is supposed to be a season 7. What I want to know is whether or not the characters from seasons 1 to 5 are going to be in the upcoming season at all.

Regina, Rumpel, and Hook are coming back. As well as the older version of Henry. Emma is going to be in one episode. Belle is going to be in one episode. Young Henry is going to be in one episode.

What about Snow and Charming? I just don't understand how this is going to work. They, meaning the writers of the show should have introduced these other characters a long time ago. The way the season ended it seemed as if that was it...until you saw that little girl go knocking on her father's door with a book that seemed very similar to the book that Henry had way back when.

As far as we know, Snow and Charming aren't coming back though the actors said they would be open to returning.

I think it's going to be a spin-off of sorts. Rumple, Hook, and Regina will still be present, but they will play different roles on the show. Roles meaning their places and significance in the storylines will be different. The main focus is going to be on adult!Henry and his life. I'm choosing to think of it like this: The show I've known and loved all this time ended at Season 6. Season 7 begins a new show with a similar theme/tone.

The way the show ended I thought it was the series finale too- until I started seeing the TV trailers with the adult Henry

Good idea! That's a great way to think of it. I think I will adopt your way of thinking- it may be the only way I can continue watching.
Listen up NBC- this is exactly what you should have done with Grimm- it would have worked for you, sadly, I don't think it will with ABC's OUAT.

I don't understand how a normal neighborhood in Seattle where anyone can just come and go as they please would work. There would be way too much interference form the outside world (law enforcement, government, businesses, etc).

I liked it except for the Hook twist. I would have preferred they left Emma out of it altogether and done something new with the Hook we've known all along rather than have to follow this new Hook whom I have absolutely no connection with. Yeah, I know they're played by the same guy, but my interest in the character still feels really different now.
I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would and enough to keep watching, but I agree that it is probably too little, too late for them to do this and continue the show past Season 7. But then again, they moved to Friday night which has much lower ratings standards, so maybe that will be enough to make it to Season 8?
