Discuss Once Upon a Time

What would you rate it out of ten?

Personal Rating: 9.5/10

So far, this is the best of the season - but from the promo the season finale looks to challenge this as my season favorite! The music, the lyrics, the singing, the choreography all matched up for a wonderful experience, with an emotional but fun character arc for Emma and story arc for the Charmings respectively.

Greatly written - both the composition and the screenplay ring with Disney magic. The acting was especially superb in this episode, and every main had a chance to shine. I was slightly disappointed that Rumple did not have a song, but that little joke in the cell made up for it.

I have only minor complaints, if any, at all. This is the Once Upon A Time I enjoy. This is certainly a better season than 4 and 5, and as a half season 6B is slowly rising up the ranks with each episode an improvement over the next (with a subtle step back with The Black Fairy)

Very impressed - although the special effects for the next episode don't seem up to par as well with the finale's song's green screen, I loved the cinematography and visuals as a whole. This episode likely will give a boost in the ratings, same with the season finale.

Great job! They planned this episode out - it seems this makes its way into my top ten episodes of the show overall the more I think about it.

10/10!!!!! Especially the ending!!! What's going to happen next week??? I cannot wait!!!

Agree, 10, this really brought the show back to life for me, and dialed in on what the original seemed to promise.

10/10 for sure i loved it this is one episode i wil watch over and over i am super excited for next week noing its the finale and 2 hours long

Love, love, love :) The episode I waited for - for years !
This is the perfect season to end the show on a high note.

They should do Spin-offs - with Malifiscent + Daughter, or Red or other unfished story lines and let our beloved characters have their happy ending.

Spin-offs could work. At the beginning of this season I thought the show should end - now I'm trying to hold onto it for as long as possible. 6B is among the best arcs this show has seen!

I read that this is Emma's last season.

Jen Morrison confirmed. She's not returning for a possible season 7, unless as a guest star.

They also filmed multiple endings for the season finale....I wonder if we'll be able to see them all and decide as an audience which ending is the best.

I posted a thread specifically for theories.

What I want to happen: everyone makes some major sacrifice in order to save people in the other realms, or the dark curse overtakes the Enchanted Forest. Emma makes her sacrifice in Storybrooke after Henry convinces her to join the fight. Years later, Henry returns with his daughter (which fits the two new cast members being added in the season finale) and opens the storybook to tell his daughter the story on the Storybrooke pier.

I think this could provide the melancholy finale we need.

Well, not need, but it could leave the story both open-ended and a fine resolution.

Im so confused is it renewed yet for season 7 bc this sounds liks it is

"TVLine has confirmed that Morrison will not be returning to Once Upon a Time as a series regular for Season 7, in the event the fantasy series is renewed by ABC"

https://www.google.co.za/amp/tvline.com/2017/05/08/jennifer-morrison-leaving-once-upon-a-time-season-6/amp/

But on abc official renewal status of all thier shows it says once is still pending

I almost got excited but with confliction i cant be certain if it is renewed!!!

I think a special would be the most beneficial. A special that could be the vignette episode they were planning that adresses Maleficent and Lily and Will.

Sneak Peek! Started another thread for Sneak Peeks/promos to share or thoughts, just wanted to get it out here:

Only just watched this ep, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the singing - especially from the Charmings, who are normally useless at petty much everything. That said, I'm currently listening to it on headphones from Spotify and the singing doesn't sound as strong as it did last night via the soundbar/TV. The songs themselves weren't bad, but weren't of the same quality of Alan Menken and Glenn Slater's work on the similarly themed "Galavant" - I'm guessing someone at ABC regrets cancelling that show. I think the songs were a bit too "theatre musical" for me, while "Galavant" seems more "cinema musical" (if that makes sense). Anyway, probably the best ep of the season so far though the bar was admittedly low!

If anyone wants another dose of fantasy musical, I'd heartily recommend "Galavant". At only 18x 22minute eps you could easily binge the whole series in a day and, despite the cancellation, it really has a perfect ending. Hard to pick one song to try and convince you, so gonna go for a group one that isn't too spoilerish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xHsAMik9VM
