How would you rate it out of ten?
I'd give it - 6.5/10
I HOPE RUMPLE'S JUST TRICKING THE BLACK FAIRY.
Overall, this episode had a good setup. We were introduced to the Black Fairy, they established Rumple's fairy godmother and Blue's role in the story. I liked the scenes between Zelena and Regina throughout the episode. There was no whining, no snarkiness, no self-righteousness or threats, I almost could not believe it. They showed us Rumple's emotional state, and his ultimate plan involving the dream sand of Morpheus.
I liked the humor, balancing out the occasional darkness, and had emotional layers above that.
Both the flashbacks and the present-day scenes were compelling. The writing was structurally sound, cinematography pleasant to look at, and special effects were sound. The music, as usual, is used artfully to add to the intensity of certain scenes.
Robert Carlyle and Jamie Murray's acting were both strong as they carried themselves through both arcs. I originally thought the prophecy had to do with the Dark One, but with it involving the Savior made it more interesting and less of what would be predictable.
I enjoyed the scene with them searching for the other half of Blue's wand at Granny's. And the fight between Regina and the Black Fairy, including it build up, albeit short.
I like how they gave both Tiger Lily's role a purpose in the flashbacks.
Fiona is a wildcard. Her paranoia though.
On the other side, this episode dragged sometimes, and Blue was strangely vague, same with TL not revealing about the sheers earlier. The flashbacks were occasionally improbable with the characters, and the visuals were at fault at some points.
About the ending: I enjoyed it, but it raised a few questions. I thought the scene between the Black Fairy and Rumple 3/4 into the episode was amazing. One of the best scenes of this season, with them understanding each other. Both of their acting was phenomenal.
However, I HATED Rumple regressing back AGAIN AND AGAIN.
I felt horrible for Malcolm at the end of the episode. And I didn't think I would've. Naming Rumple...
The scene between Hook and Henry was adorable.
Side Note: They are really marketing the Musical Episode.

The episode was great until that horrible ending. I would've preferred if Rumple sent her away and she came back without his help.

She turned herself into one. Even the Red Fairy was shocked and said something like, "That's impossible." We're expected to believe that it was knowledge she'd gained trying to get the power to rescue Rumple.
