A wealthy Dallas family and staff are murdered, then another family's daughter is abducted by the same masked men. This was part of a larger plan that was meant to extort millions of dollars from other wealthy families.

In last year's season finale, a vicious serial killer who set his sights on wealthy members of Dallas society was successfully apprehended, with Walker, Trivette, Alex and C.D. all risking their lives trying to stop him.
