Discusión Gunsmoke

An eighteenth season ep starring later superstar Harrison Ford and the pleasing and very beautiful Katherine Justice. In the ep everyone weirdly spoke like they were in the mid-19th century with their songs and expressions. Would have been a better show if they talked like they usually did on the show.

But “Gunsmoke” was set in the 19TH Century. How would you expect them to talk?

Like they usually did --not the way in that strange ep!! That ep was largely atypical. And repulsive in dialogue. They never talked liked that in other single ep of over 600. Gunsmoke would only have lasted three weeks if that had originally been on in 1955.

I am grateful that Ken Curtis was totally spared this oddball ep and did not get caught on film talking weird like this. The next two years the show went normal again. Thank Jesus!

🙄

This is much like the dud film "Jaws: The Revenge". The characters of Michael and Jake had really weird dialogue and the actors, it was stated in critical reviews, had a real hard time trying to be convincing that these two really talked this way to each other all the time!

Actually, that dialogue was probably the most realistic for this type of show.

Who cares. It was unidentifiable and weird. You know what a short life the show would have had had it done this all along. Like I said.

Scenario of what happened all across America the night and EST hour that ep aired on CBS in around 1972.

Middle age viewer eating brand name ice cream roll from the freezer .

Viewer colon What da hell is this. Why is everybody talking so cuckoo. This sure ain't Gunsmoke.

Other viewer colon Yes it is, Steve. The opening credits show it is.And there is James Arness playing Matt Dillon. But you are right as everybody is talking totally freaky.

Viewer Jesus. This has got to be the bleep bleep episode of this show ever. Hand me that damn remote. They do this again next week we quit this crummy show for good understand.

Other viewer colon Absolutely and agreed.

Few would have understood it and it positively drove viewers Into very understandable and frustrated confusion. This dialogue and whole idea was improper . Notice how it is was never and ever brought back. The producers and writers were sensibly on my side.

Benton, What have you been smoking? Your last comment MAKES NO SENSE (unless you are HIGH)!
