国见比吕、野田敦、橘英雄是好朋友，同样的棒球痴。比吕是投手，野田敦是捕手，橘英雄则是出色的击球手，三人同在青南中学时就已经是球队的王牌，比吕和野田更是连续两年获得中学分区大会冠军球队的最佳投手和捕手，是一对黄金拍档。但比吕跟野田却不幸被庸医所误，以为身体已不适合继续打棒球，因此在上高中时选择了没有棒球社的千川高校。比吕在参加足球社后，遇到了因喜爱高校棒球而成为千川棒球爱好会经理的古贺春华，在一起经历许多挫折后终于成立了棒球社并开始实现打进甲子园的梦想。同时，跟比吕青梅竹马的女孩雨宫雅玲，虽然是橘英雄的女朋友，但在进入高中后由于英雄往往过于投入联系而忽略了雅玲的感情，这时往往身为亲梅竹马的比吕会来安慰雅玲，在不知不觉中雅玲发现跟比吕彼此间有着说不清的感情，而比吕跟春华之间的感情也与日倶增，比吕、英雄、雅玲、春华四人的感情将何去何从？

Hiro is national class pitcher and batter, with his best friend who is a catcher and with Haruko as the team manager, together they struggle to build a baseball team worthy of the national championship.
