About Anne Boleyn: maybe you can bring a book to bed and read yourself to sleep? I bring my kindle to bed so I can read with the lights out so as not to bother my husband. I basically pass out reading. Do you think that will work for you? You have a compassionate nature. I think that's a wonderful thing! I went to the Tower of London and placed my head on the very same block that Anne did. That didn't bother me. But when my daughter and I were in the room she stayed in, we looked at one another and ran out. The atmosphere there is creepy and depressing. I don't watch either of those shoes, so I can't help you out.
Do you have a smart tv? Most of the new flatscreens are smart. I ask because if so, you can watch YouTube on there, and they have incredibly good content. I watched War and Peace with Anthony Hopkins on YouTube last month, it was fantastic.

I do not have a smart tv, but I do have a new high quality dell, and love to watch on the computer! I will add War and Peace to my list. How could you put your head on the block!!! That just freaks me out! In Wolf house they did not use a block...they had guy swing a sword and lop her head off. Which is the correct version? Have you visited the Raven's of the tower of London on facebook? It is fascinating. There will always be Ravens there to save England...If the ravens were to leave for some reason...it means the kingdom would crumble...old myth, but still maintained. (smile) The caretaker keeps the website up. No, I cannot read in bed...I must be comfortable at a table...with cigarettes. Yes, I know... As much as I enjoy Henry and his wives I think I must let go for a bit. Of all the actresses who played Eliz 1, who is your favorite? Helen Mirran got some bad reviews on amazon for portraying her as a giddy school girl. I watched a bit of Cate Blanchette, and she too was just to giddy. I do want to see the great Bette's version. Here is a list of the actresses: Sarah Bernhardt Flora Robson Bette Davis Glenda Jackson Miranda Richardson Anne Marie Duff Cate Blanchette Helen Mirren

I didn't even have to read the list: Glenda Jackson.
Anne was executed on Tower Green with a sword at her request. Normally an axe was used, but Henry made an exception. Wow. What a sport he was! And it was on the block. I'll send you a picture of me on it unless you think it'll gross you out. The ravens are still there, and the "Beefeater" queensguard told us they clip their feathers to prevent them from leaving!

Yes...would love a picture. You may send to my facebook wall if you like. My name is Anna Licona...Happy you saw the ravens and guard. Takes away the memory of Ann's decapitation lessen in my mind. What did you think of the depiction of the swordsman dancing around her waiting to strike? He was like a dancer...lithe and lean...lol I did see Glenda Jackson in the wives of Henry. I am going to rewatch that series. So good and it is what got me stuck on Henry.
Btw...heard on the morning news that the castle (already forgot the name) where Henry and Anne honeymooned is on sale for $10 million.

Did you get the picture? There could be another Anna Licona, I couldn't believe I found someone with the same name as mine!

No Sheez I did not. I think you need to send a friend request? I am no fb expert. Watched amazingly good movie on Amazon. THE DRESSMAKER with Kate Winslet. Drama/comedy/(dark) /mystery. Very unusual plot in the Australian outback.

Claddagh: weren't those beaded dresses gorgeous? Edith wore a teal-colored peacock number that was tear-worthy as well. The Edwardian styles were awesome, but the roaring twenties numbers were incredible. Have you seen Miss Fishers' Murder Mysteries on Netflix? Same time period, and again, beautiful clothes, only Miss Fisher is stylishly flamboyant!

Miss Fisher one of the best series to come out of Australia. I read they're making a movie trilogy, so looking forward to it.

It's fantastic, and very popular in the states. I haven't checked lately to see if there will be another season, but I'd be happy with a movie series!

There were only 3 seasons sadly... But the movies will make up for it relaxed

Oh no! Well, I can always watch it again. There is an upside to short-term memory loss! 😄

Anna, I did send a friend request. My first name is Betsy. Also, do you use fb messenger? It's a great device, and it's what I used to send my picture. I see you are a cheesehead! I know a little about the packers in the 60's; I read Jerry Kramer's book, Vince Lombardi's, a n d Bart Starr's.

Anna, how was The Dressmaker? Should I watch it? Oh, and there's about 50 Ana Liconas!

@sheezcrazy Morning Betsy...yes lots of Ana's ...but I am Anna. Ana is common Spanish name as well as Licona. My ex was Tex-mex...lol The Dressmaker is wonderful...I wrote a review of it on TMDB. Also watched Marie Antoinette, the Kristin Dunst (sp) version...directed by Sophia Coppola version, which was not historically correct. It was beautiful however...a delight for the visuals.

I'll check out your review. I saw MA too, beautiful to look at, yes, but what a bad ending! Well, at least it wasn't a _surprise _ending.

@sheezcrazy ...I did some research on MA, and Coppola's version wasn't far off. Her life was exactly that...excess. She really did create a "farm" so she and her friends could role play peasants drinking milk and tending chickens. Very little empathy for commoner's, but then she knew nothing else! This is a fun read...hope the link works. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/will-bashor/marie-antoinettes-crazies_b_4109620.html)

The saying "let them eat cake" attributed to MA sums up her disregard for the peasant class.
