Anyone have any challengers? I can't think of a stronger opening series that wasn't subsequently followed up. I also thoroughly enjoyed Donal Logue's 'The Knights of Prosperity'. Rubicon, Freaks and Geeks, and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip should all have been picked up for sequels too, and I would have put Rubicon in the top spot, except it didn't even make it to the end of one series before they pulled it.

Terriers is definitely near the top. No question about it.
I liked Rubicon a lot as well but I have yet to meet another person who had seen it I don't think anyone but apparently you and I watched it.

Badly marketed I guess, the same as Terriers. The cast was fantastic. James Badge Dale should definitely have his own series. I've stumbled on a new addition to this list of great one hit wonders though: Quarry. V interesting little series, albeit a little too heavy and depressing to be entertainment gold. You got any recommendations?

Ya, I'll admit Rubicon was a slow burner at times but it had this bigger world feeling and I was wanting to know so much more about what was going on.
I knew about Terriers because of my love for Shawn Ryan's work. If you have followed his career at all you have a few single season wonders including but limited to Terriers, The Chicago Code and Mad Dogs. His new show Timeless was originally cancelled and I would have included it on this list but it was un-cancelled and is in fact getting a season 2.
I have 5 more shows that have stuck with me over the years as ones that should have got a chance with a second season:
Thanks for the recommendation for Quarry, I'll check it out!
