Trading Spaces kicks off a brand-new season in suburban Philadelphia, Pa. Preston and his wife, Rachelle, are trading with their neighbors B.J. and Sue. Preston will put in some extra-long days because he has to get up at 3 a.m. to go work on his morning radio show. And because he couldn't take time off, he's doing his show live from his neighbor's house. Speaking of 3 a.m., that's when neighbor B.J. starts work on her overnight job that her boss wouldn't let her out of, and so for part of the time, Sue has to carry the weight of redecorating without her teammate. In spite of being shorthanded, designer Hildi Santo Tomás manages to pull off a kitchen redo that is pretty radical. Imagine that from Hildi! Next door in Laurie Smith's family room, carpenter Carter Oosterhouse is faced with a daunting list of projects.

The Trading Spaces caravan rolls into California bearing new twists and a whole new look to the show. Host Paige Davis knows that one of the rooms in each house is the ""money"" room — that means it has a bigger budget. But, of course, designers Edward Walker and Hildi Santo Tomás don't know which room it is. What fun would that be? So the designers and their homeowners have to pick which room to do right there on the spot. Do they pick the money room? How much will the budget be on this episode? How will the homeowners react when they don't even know which room has been chosen for redecoration in their house? And has carpenter Faber Dewar lost his Scottish mind? To tear out that whole wall? It's a wild ride in this episode from South Central L.A. And you won't want to miss these high-energy homeowners at their reveal!

October 30, 20041h

Trading Spaces invades the Pacific Northwest in this episode that finds identical twin, Norwegian-born sisters living directly across the street from each other. The husbands are along for the ride and anything goes in this episode. Designers Barry Wood and Christi Proctor team up with carpenter Carter Oosterhouse to remake a family room and a dining room. Barry should change his last name from Wood to Concrete after this episode as he tackles a highly unusual and challenging project in his dining room. Is there enough time and sand and cement for his vision to come to life? Meanwhile, Christi — always the optimist — tackles an entire kitchen redo. If she were a classical composer this room would be called the ""Unfinished Symphony."" Host Paige Davis tries her best but sometimes even she can get our designers to the finish line. Tune in to see if identical twins have identical reactions to their new rooms!

Spirits are alive and well in Savannah ... or at least our homeowners think so! You will see a Trading Spaces first on this episode — a ghost! Craig and Jett believe the ghost of a little boy lives in their home. This episode may answer the question what is scarier ... a haunted house or having a Trading Spaces designer redo your room without knowing what the heck is going on! Designer Frank Bielec has a ""ghastly"" time trying to re-do a breakfast nook while Kia Steave Dickerson gets into the ""spirit"" by trying to transport a master bedroom back to a previous era. Thankfully, we have fearless host Paige Davis and carpenter Amy Wynn Pastor to pitch in and to make sure our teams don't get scared off before they finish their rooms. This is a spirited episode not to be missed!

Savannah's southern soul paints a pretty picture with the help of some artistic homeowners. Two musicians, a dancer and a jewelry designer lend their talents to Trading Spaces designers to create a masterpiece or two. Designer Barry Wood's peach of an idea starts to go to the pits when he has trouble fitting all the pieces of his room together. Laura Day leaves her creative homeowners feeling more like apprentices than the artists they are. Luckily, host Paige Davis and carpenter Faber Dewar are there to drill, saw and smooth the finishing touches. A colorful episode that could brighten up even the darkest room!

Key West: Bay Drive

February 26, 20051h

Escape to a tropical paradise in this episode of Trading Spaces. Designers Christi and Edward harvest the natural beauty of the Keys to inspire their designs. Our homeowners are ready for a change, but will the notoriously laid-back Key West spirit mix well with the amount of work this show needs to complete in only 2 days?

Initially off to a smooth start, each team runs into some rough water. Edward's homeowner, Heather, proves to be quite dangerous with a power tool. And Christi goes way over budget. Hopefully she will be able to scale back her grand idea and still deliver the beautiful, romantic bedroom that's in her vision. Luckily, host Paige Davis and carpenter Carter Oosterhouse pitch in when the ""all hands on deck"" call goes out, but will they be enough extra help to rescue these designs? With a definite nautical flair in this episode, don't let this boat leave the dock without you!
