The way the Foray Foursome obtaigned ownership of the horse; did the owner put it up for sale, or was it something else?

Also, the bit where Escalante tells Gus he's 90% sure the horse WON't be in the race, what's up with that? Dramatic gimmick, or realistic version of what can and does happen in real horse races?

Finally, the jockey agent telling the young kid his horse "drew 112", so he's disqualified because his weight is 5 pounds ovar? Someone explain, pls.

Now that I'm down to the last couple of eps, really regretting this was cancelled; series was slow to get all the background and charactars defined, but definitely worth it, a lot bettar than normal TV pablum.
