It was changed by a mod a few years ago, but I don't know why. Rose of Versailles was used on Crunchyroll in 2008, but that back when they still hosted illegal content. It's kinda difficult to confirm the English title without knowing when and how it was first released.![man_shrugging](/emojis/static_cache/v5/1f937-2642.svg)

At least for Western English-speaking countries, it's easy to find out from the article at https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/feature/2012-10-30 that the first release of it was on Viki in 2012, which then titled it "The Rose of Versailles".
The next release of it, which was part of the same arrangement, was on two DVD sets by Nozomi Entertainment (who did the translation and subtitling for the release on Viki) in 2013. Part 1 and Part 2 of these both titled it "The Rose of Versailles".
It was also titled The Rose of Versailles when it was on Amazon Prime Video, put on there by Nozomi's parent company Right Stuf.

Alright, that good enough for me. It looks like Viki used The Rose of Versailles. Thanks @NotSafeforFun!
