B5 changes some in characters from the pilot movie, mostly the makeup of Delenn. But it's just that one 'jump' and then everything is fine.

The episode with Combs is just #16 so maybe you could make it through season 1 before deciding?

If you get Profiler ... be aware that one episode - I think it's episode 4 of season 1 - was omitted from the DVD set because it's based heavily on the Police song "I'll Be Watching You" and they wanted too much for the DVD music rights.

That episode still broadcasts in syndication though - separate music rights - and I have it recorded. I can put it on adrive ("cloud") for you when needed.

There is some really good stuff, including from Londo, in the season 1 finale. Some of it refers to old American cartoon shows, so maybe you won't understand, but here's hoping.

I don't mean "cloud" in the sense of something fancy that you need a special program for or something. It's really just a way of making especially larger files available to other people without passing them through email or something. (And if you send stuff like that through gmail, it doesn't really go through the email anyway: google just puts it on their "google drive" thing and then sends only a url to the file, to the intended recipient.)

For the most part, maybe depending what internet web program ("browser") you use, you may only have to select "save target as..." and then download each file to your own system before watching them.

Yes, Garibaldi is great. And Jerry Doyle had a radio show for a while, until he died.

Also, despite the name, "In The Beginning" is not actually the start of the show. That was basically a "clip show" synopsis made by TNT to introduce viewers to the show when they took over at season 5. You really don't need to bother watching it at all, unless you might benefit from some reminders of previous events.

The movie "Thirdspace" (if they don't have it on netflix or whatever you're using, I can put it on youtube too, briefly) falls into the timeline early in season 4.

"River Of Souls" comes partway through season 5, I don't remember the exact position, but really once you get into season 5 you can see that just about any time. Maybe wait until after the telepath situation is resolved. ("What telepath situation?" You'll see. )

"A Call To Arms" comes 5 years after the end of the regular series, and leads into the follow-up series "Crusade."

"Legend Of The Rangers" is really after everything else.

I figured making it "private" would offer some protection, but I guess you didn't get to it soon enough. I was actually able to watch it twice myself, while it was there.

So it'll be "the cloud." As I said before, this is not some weird thing that you need a special "app" for or something. It's just an .avi file, the same one I uploaded to youtube in fact.

If you just click on this link, it might "stream" for you that way, depending on how your system is set up. Or you may be prompted to download it to your system/device and then play/watch it locally.

Well you should be able to open an .avi file with VLC. But I don't use it myself, I use Media Player Classic.

If you rely on default associations to start VLC when you open the file, that may not happen automatically. But if you start VLC, and then use VLC to open the .avi file, seems like it should work.

There was a time when Macintosh systems didn't handle .avi properly without a special add-on, but I think they fixed that.

I’m watching season 3......episode 6

In season 1 I found out what happened to Sinclair .. so when he saw most of his squadron being taken out he decided to ram the huge Minbari warship but he's beamed aboard instead and tortured.

...the enemy wanted to see if they could get some info on humans but during the interrogation, the religious caste realised that Sinclair in a previous life was actually a Minbari .. ( at least this was what I understood) hence the Minbari opt to retreat despite they were clearly winning ( despite the disapproval of the Minbari warrior caste)

I didn’t get what happened in the episode where Babylon 4 reappeared and in the end the mystery guy in the astronaut suit turned out to be Sinclair. 🤔

I was disappointed not to see Sinclair in season 2 ( except in a video message for Garibaldi) .. when Delenn spun that cocoon and became part human, I was sure Sinclair would reappear instead he didn’t .. ☹️ I was under the impression that she was very keen on Sinclair and that was why she underwent the transmutation ..

I love G’Kar arc. I find him honourable .. and his words are full of depth and meaning. He is very soulful.

In season 3 after he attacked Londo( due to the “Dust” he assumed )and was sentenced to prison for 6 weeks, he starts to write a book 😑

I loved the episode when G’Kar and Londo are trapped in the lift .. the fact they were most probably going to die, didn't faze G’Kar cause he was more than happy to watch Lando die than save his own life .. .. very intense scene...G'Kar's stare is chilling idem his laugh.

I still root for Garibaldi but for me the biggest revelation is G’Kar in season 2 and what I have seen of season 3

The doctor and Susan Ivanova are my least favourite.

The wormhole(?) ..I don’t understand how it works ....leaving the station they can open it at will ...

but does it take them directly to their destination on the other end ??

and how do they get back ..how do they know where the opening is on the way back... I find it confusing...

If you mean the hyperspace stuff, it's not just direct "wormholes" from one place to another. The easiest way to understand it is probably that in hyperspace, if you move, say, 1 mile, that becomes a million miles in normal space, or something. So if you jump into hyperspace from Earth, travel a million miles - at a "normal" speed, since nothing is actually going faster than light so it takes a few days - and then jump back, you're at Alpha Centauri or something.

As I've mentioned before, stuff in Season 1 of B5 relates to things that happen in seasons 2, 3, 4, and 5. So yes, Sinclair does return. Eventually. But the "real world" reason why Sinclair left B5 is that Michael O'Hare had some serious problems with depression. I think you'll end up agreeing with me that, ultimately, most of the "oops" problems like that which came up over the course of the show, resulted in the show being overall better than if things had gone "perfectly."
