Once the surgery on the boy was done, and the parents killed him anyway, why weren't they charged with it? Doesn't seem like their religion would get them off.

One of the most underrated episodes of B5.
Don't expect storylines like this in the upcoming reboot.

If they start over again from the beginning, I won't bother. And I hope no one else does either. Although I'm sure some will, and there will be a lot of people who will think the "new" show is great that never saw the original.
What they should do, and what it sounded to me like they were planning at least from one source, is take up after the "Legend Of The Rangers: To Live And Die In Starlight" movie, dealing with the OTHER "ancient" race, "The Hand," etc. Which could even include Bruce Boxleitner as Sheridan since he was still President of the Alliance at that time.
