You had to wait til the end to discover that he hadn't disappeared after all but didn't want anything to do with his family so walked away from them and his life. I wonder how he got the money to simply vanish like that especially with no car since he abandoned it. They mentioned how poor he was that he was always borrowing money from people, believing he was giving it all to his church.

Some people have posted they believe he is gay and that's why he walked away from his church and his life to start over in a new city. I actually thought that too when I was watching this. I wondered if he wasn't gay or transgender and couldn't imagine living near his family with his new life. Sometimes people do that.
