He supposedly wanted Ripley and Dallas and the others to be having casual sex too, but that also didn't happen in the movie
I think you misheard a rumour here Knix ,Scott had wanted the actors to be naked at the beginning when they awake from the hibernation pods but that was vetoed by the studio who didn't want nudity in the film. And another origin of that rumour also stems from a scene that was shot(and can be viewed with the deleted scenes )Where we see Ripley and Lambert having a conversation where they are discussing whether Ash ever made a pass at either of them,to which both Ripley and Lambert reply that he hadn't. This scene was eventually cut because it foreshadowed Ash's actual identity and would spoil the big reveal that Ash was an Android.
The same thing happened with Miri too, really. Once they had the cure, developed by McCoy and Spock, seems like it would be basically safe to use the life-extension "formula" that had been developed. But apparently they never did.
Unless maybe the cure to the... unfortunate side-effects... also counteracted the original life-extension process? I guess that's possible.
Which means that Miri and the others would start aging normally. Do you suppose that would be harder on them, than dealing with truant officers etc, still essentially as children, for maybe another few hundred years?
What do you do if High School is going to last for CENTURIES? Kill yourself?
David was aware of him being superior to humans and resented that he was treated like a slave
While I appreciate your perspective, I find it unconvincing. David was an artificial being - who would program him to be "resentful"? If he developed the resentful attitude on his own, why wasn't it caught and corrected? He's a computer, albeit an advanced one, and he's programmed as a servant. How does he overcome his programming without being detected? Even Ash, years later, was programmed to favor the Xenomorph, making his behavior understandable. If this is in fact the reason for his actions, it's pretty sloppy writing.
If Scott does make another movie in the franchise, who is to say he won't creatively adjust the story again? Since he is simply ret-conning the original creature, it's hard to believe this is a definitive answer.

Heh. I hope that The Federation could come up with a more creative solution than three centuries of 10th grade.
It is often disappointing that we don't hear about how Star Fleet follows up on some of these stories - like the android creation device in "What Are Little Girls Made Of," the Spores in "This Side of Paradise," or The Guardian in "City on the Edge of Forever" (although there was an Animated episode, of course.)

These might be the kind of things we notice when it's possible to see these episodes again and again, especially when we're not 10 years old any more, etc. Things that didn't happen in the original time of TOS especially, when shows were usually shown once - MAYBE twice although with sometimes over 30 episodes per season of many shows back then, you simply couldn't repeat ALL of them within a year - and then disappeared.
To my knowledge SyFy broadcasted Star Trek Enterprise in the mornings and Friday evening ,TOS early in the evening and at night a couple of TNG episodes back to back .
H&I shows all 5 regular series back to back. TOS, TNG, DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise. 6 days a week. They were showing the animated series too for a while, on Sundays, but that seems to be on hiatus for a while. Probably because there were so few episodes made of that.
Because I got my current username by using the last name of Robert Lansing's character on Twelve O'Clock High and the numbers from the designation of the airbase in the series. I put my name in that post to jxh13 in case he didn't know about the change. Ta-dah!

Savage, have you ever seen "The Equalizer" (series, NOT movies) or "Kung Fu: The Legend Contiues"? RL was a regular in both.

I do miss the days that the SyFy channel still aired various Star Trek shows and episodes on a daily basis.

I guess that was possible for a while. But H&I shows them now, 6 days a week, and they don't cut nearly as much.

Anyway, it would have had to be T.P.F.K.A.M.K. Since the previous moniker was Maria Kelly.
