Archer commanded the NX-01 first, we don't know who had it after him, if anyone.

Supposedly Robert April was the first captain of 1701. Kirk was also first captain of 1701A which was technically a different ship.

Captain Harriman (no first name ever given, that I know of) was first captain of 1701B. Unless he was replaced after being so incompetent at the start of the Generations movie.

Captain Rachel Garrett is the only captain ever named that I know of, for 1701C. She may not have been the first, but she was definitely the last (TNG: Yesterday's Enterprise).

Picard commanded both 1701D and 1701E.

You forgot that Spock was captain of the NCC 1701 between events of TMP and TSFS my top 4 would be:

1)Kirk

2)Archer

3)Picard

4)Pike

That's true, I forgot about Spock commanding Enterprise as a cadet ship. But I did better than Wonder. grinning And I may not have missed it if I'd been coming up with the list from scratch.

Should we also include Commodores Decker and Stocker?

And maybe Worf? (TNG: Emissary)

I suppose Captain Chekov doesn't count because that was a movie (Movie 5, Final Frontier.)

Kirk : he wins hands down.

Archer ..haven't seen enough to understand what kind of captain he was but I'm still going to give him second place cause he loves dogs🐾🐾 Is Porthos allowed in the bed? 😎

Pike

Picard ... He's suppose to be French and he drinks tea 😳..he grew up in the vineyards in France.. Why not just make him English , then . It would have made more sense .

Exactly If Picard had been truly French he would be drinking Chateau Yquem,Chateau Petrus or at least Chateau Picard have long and laborious lunches and love gourmet foods and probably have a "wine cellar" on Enterprise and above all a ladies man and charmer (heck I'll bet if Picard was truly French Beverly wouldn't get much rest or time for work ,because faire l'amour dans la tour Eiffel ,cherchez les femmes, etc) french_bread cheese wine_glass flag_fr grin

Yes, the Picard-is-a-Frenchman thing wasn't really done very well. I blame World War III and lost history/knowledge as a result. And I sometimes suggest an episode where Q shows up again, eager to be of help. He goes around telling everyone what they're doing wrong, including that Picard as a Frenchman should be drinking coffee, not tea. The title? Well, what else? "Q Tips."

Too bad there was never a high-quality official video of this, I always loved the song. Went crazy bugging record stores for the 45 when it was ABOUT to come out:

P.S. I sometimes find people playing a kind of trivia game, naming bands with an animal in the name. So far nobody has beat "Dr Buzzard's Original Savannah Band." grinning

Yeah he should be drinking soup bowl size cups of coffee and burst out singing the occasional French chanson in stead of serving high tea for Nechayev.

Thanx Knix been ages since I heard that song and I always got this band mixed up with another band of around the same time and also had that pop jazzy night club big band sound.

Well it seems that odd names come with this particular type of genre since this band is called Elbow Bones The Racketeers. laughing

Nice name, but it wouldn't fit in a game of band names with names of animals in them.

How about Three Dog Night ,Government Mule,Hairy Apes BMX,Squirrel Nut Zippers,Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band,Les Claypool and the Holy Mackerel,Jimmie’s Chicken Shack or Toad the Wet Sprocket? laughing

I blame an abusive English nanny or a very repressed regime at an English private school. You know a lot repressed sexuality ,closet homosexuality, and sexual perversion. So in stead of Picard having a wine cellar,Picard has an S&M cellar or dark room (poor Beverly) laughing

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kmG7KXxShM so in hindsight the Cardassian was actually doing Picard a favour stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye

As Dennis Miller sometimes says, never make your safe word "Again." grinning

When I've been involved in the game, nobody misses those. But I don't think Jimmy Buffet etc would qualify. Even if you say that coral used to be alive.

But so far, nobody else has ever come up with "Dr Buzzard."

Did I get it right these are all names of musical bands?😅

Three Dog Night ,Government Mule,Hairy Apes BMX,Squirrel Nut Zippers,Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band,Les Claypool and the Holy Mackerel,Jimmie’s Chicken Shack or Toad the Wet Sprocket.

And there is a crossword game where people use bands with animal names?

Do they have to be bands of the 60s?

No, it's not a crossword game. More like a trivia contest. The last person who names a band with an animal in their name, wins.

But again, I don't think Jimmy Buffett really qualifies, even if coral was originally alive. A coral REEF is the leftover skeletons, not the living things themselves. Plus the name is reefer, not reef. And of course, reefer is pot or marijuana.

Thanks Knix.

I know what a coral reef is but I had no idea reefer was another word for weed.🌱

So back to the game .. Howabout
