Discuss Star Trek

The Shat is going to do a discussion of his life and career near me in upstate NY in April. Then will be showing Wrath of KHAAAAAAAAAN. Do I bother? He is going to be 87. Time is running out on Captain kir...kir...Kirok.

I would if I were you Chris how many times in your life do you get to meet a living legend?Plus he's not getting any younger and watching TWOK with Captain kirk awesome! Ask about horses Chris that's a thing close to his heart.

It's either this, or, as I've mentioned last year, there is a Shatner Weekend in Ticonderoga, NY in May.

Ticonderoga Trek Tour

Maybe do both Chris? although I do not know what the event in April costs but you could go for the cheaper tickets for the May event($380 for a VIP arrangement seems a bit steep although if that is all access with meals and drinks included it would be an option to consider) if you already have seen The Shat /TWOK combo.

Ask him why in TWOK they screwed up and turned Gamma Hydra into Klingon territory when "everyone knows" (from the episode The Deadly Years) that Gamma Hydra is on the ROMULAN border. So he can tell you to "get a life." Just like on SNL, when he was playing "Evil Kirk." grinning

The Kobayashi Maru scenario is a simulation not designed to test cadets about their stellar cartography skills but to test how they hold up a no-win scenario. laughing

Ah, yes, the Nicholas Meyer excuse. i.e., "Who cares?"

Obviously you do. laughing

Before you decide, Chris, check out the item at around 55 seconds in this video.

If you go Chris ask him what he thinks of Tarantino making a Star trek movie .

I'm far from a lone voice. And it's not the worst transgression. But these things are all a matter of degree, not of kind. How far are you willing to go? Would you still not object if someone made a movie where the Federation and Klingon/Romulan/whoever ship designs were just swapped, because they wanted the characters in THEIR movie to have what they think is the cooler looking ship? Or if some Russian director made their movie with Chekov in command and Kirk at the nav station? c'mon.

OMG, Nex! I thought that was just a silly bogus rumor. You mean it's true? There is actually going to be a "Pulp Trek?'I don't even want to think about it. I'm not fond of vomiting. It'll be scene after scene like the one in TNG: "Conspiracy" where they phasered Remmick's face off.

You might be surprised how a conventional Star Trek movie he might make, and from what I understand he understands the franchise quite well and he pitched an idea for a Trek movie before the end of last year and within a week he was talking to the J.J. about a new Trek movie So they must really have liked what he suggested and from interviews he really liked the idea of the TNG episode Yesterday's Enterprise where ENT-D comes into contact with ENT-C ,where the return of ENT-C causes dramatic changes in the present day where the war between The Federation and the Klingons never ended.I think this kind of scenario could work with a new reboot movie since they had planned for Chris Hemsworth to reprise his role as Kirk's father .Also Patrick Stewart has said that if Tarantino were to direct a new Trek movie he was more than willing to reprise his role of Picard because he would love to work with him.Maybe Chris could also ask The Shat whether he would want to star in a Tarantino Trek movie as well, because Tarantino really loves Shatner's Kirk.

Sir Patrick must have been stoned when he said that. Just what we need; "Pulp Trek". It'll be full of gratuitous violence and will be chronologically incoherent.

We'll see plenty of scenes like this:
