Never missed an episode!! Brilliant, addictive, and unforgettable. Did you know Emma Peel got her name from M appeal. M meaning men, of course. Thanks for reminding me of a magic time.

Hi JohnSteed! Hi Maureen Mobbs!
John, I read your post on the 77 Sunset Strip board, and (judging by your screen name) thought I'd check here too. Happy to see another nostalgia fan!
Maureen, no I never knew that's how Emma Peel got her name. But, when I started watching The Avengers in the mid-1960's with a 14 year-old's raging hormones ...YES! Emma Peel certainly did appeal to me a lot! lol. Love the show!!

LoL,
I wan't aware of the trivia around the foundation of her name either.
And I also very much enjoy Emma, especially in her leather catsuit!

Yes, in hindsight having the Avengers cast arrive on the island on the last Prisoner episode would have been fantastic!

Also, a crossover episode between The Avengers and The Saint would have been out of sight also! Basically these 2 British classics ran almost in parallel over the course of 6 or 7 years!
Having Mr. Steed and Mr. Templar combine forces vs. the bad guys would be stunning.

I can't believe it's been two months since someone posted here. Thought I'd pick up this thread. I remember watching an episode that was sort of a satire on silent films. Emma Peel was tied to a set of train tracks. The sequence was shown in black and white and was played in something like fast-forward to mimic how silent films were shown on contemporary projectors at the time. Does anyone remember this episode or what it was called? Thanks!

Hi, that is from the episode "The Gravediggers". A really fun episode about the eccentric millionaire with his own private train.
