It's remarkable! That show hasn't entered my conscious mind in decades but, when I saw the title of this post, I thought "what the..." and then could hear it in my mind, and "Buck Rogers" immediately popped into my head.

I used to watch this show as a kid but I don't remember too much except for that robot and the show opening. Oh yeah, there was a bird guy too.
Hawk! That was it. And I must apologize for my inadvertent racism. I realize I shouldn't have used the B word in this day and age. I should have called him an Avian American.
To this day nearly 50 years later, Twiki is still one of the greatest robot sidekicks in scifi history!
I think it was a stroke of genius to create a robot that looks totally cute & harmless but with a deep voice like a drunken sailor with all the racy 1 liners they could sneak past the tv censors!
(And what they couldn't sneak past the censors could be handled with a well placed "Bidibidibidi" "What did he say?!")
