The character Linc Case (Glenn Corbett) is supposed to have been in Vietnam. Ho CHi Minh committed mass-murder on North Vietnamese landlords in the 1950's. Ken Burns admitted Ho did this (Burns showed this in his own book on Vietnam).

Nguyen Thi Nam was Ho's first victim-- a beautiful lady land baron. Ho tragically killer her while she was a helpless prisoner.
