Diskutera The People's Court

I wrote this once, years ago, on IMDb and hoped the producers of the show would read it. But now those message boards are all gone, so I thought I would repost my sentiments here...

I LOVE this show, and I have a serious girl crush on Marilyn Milian - she's so smart and fair. I have learned a lot watching this show.

But! It still needs to be entertaining. And, by that, I do NOT mean turn into trashy court TV, or Jerry Springer-type nonsense. But please please mix things up, and don't show the same lawsuits all the time! Here are the Top 3 Topics I get very verrrrrry tired of watching:

1) Someone who bought a used car, "as-is," and wants to get their money back, or have the seller pay for repairs it needed. /YAWN

Yes, it's true that if more people saw these episodes, there would be fewer of these episodes to see! But obviously these people are not already watching The People's Court. The rest of us get it!

2) That big, bad Pitbull bit my innocent little Yorkie. Or whatever. BORING.

3) Landlord/Tenant dispute over security deposit or last month's rent.

The only exception to these is if the details are actually interesting! If there is something unusual, or funny, or SOMETHING DIFFERENT about the case! For instance, the episode I just got done watching was a guy who was renting an apartment. He subletted out the other rooms to Airbnb. He subletted a room to a kid for one semester of college, but then immediately told him after he moved in that he would have to move right back out because his landlord just found out he was subletting, so they were terminating his lease. The kid had 25 days there, in total, and this guy kept his whole $1200 deposit. His reason? HIS landlords were keeping it from him. "What was wrong with the room?," Judge Milian asks. "There were holes in the walls, stains on the carpets, and other damage," the "landlord" replies. "Damage that he caused?" the judge asks. "I have no idea," he answers, "that was what they told me." She went around and around and around with him, and he was completely delusional. It was funny! It was the first time in I don't even remember how long that I enjoyed watching a landlord/tenant case!

Anyway. PLEASE mix things up! PLEASE give us more variety! There has got to be more out there!

Until they stop regurgitating these tired topics, I've just started skipping over them. I hope that is somehow tracked and imparted to them.

Oh, I have another tired topic to list:

"I paid a deposit, changed my mind, and want my deposit back."
