So... two years searching for her true love, who is then declared dead, and within a year Addison has found a new chap and the relationship seems fairly established. Poor Ben!
I wonder what prompted this decision by the production team? Surely there was enough going on with the various hints of what was going to happen if Ben didn't complete his plan to not need extra "backstage" conflict? Did the two actors not like playing romantic scenes together? Was a white military vet getting cosy with a Chinese guy too much for the audience?
I've yet to see past this episode, but I'm not happy with this development. Though I'll be less happy if they go down the "It's an alternate timeline" route.

Read an article that explained that the current showrunners took over in S1 and weren't happy with the "mystery box" elements like the evil leaper and Ben's quest (kinda understandable), but they seem to have just dropped them. I think I'd rather have an "alternate timeline" rather than "la la la we're not going to address that".
It almost seems as if they'd prefer a soap opera with lots of "drama". The last episode I saw brought out American Screenwriters' Fake Drama Crutch #1: Magic is now alcoholic. Anyone care to guess who will be Crutch #2 and have Daddy Issues?
