Discuss Twin Peaks

...playing it with evil Cooper. Or so it seems. I thought the SMS thing would turn out to be some kind of misunderstanding but she was more than suspicious in episode 11. Maybe the meeting she had with Cooper (the one Gordon asks her about) was actually with Evil Cooper - but what would that even mean?

EVIL COOP wanted/needed a body here to inhabit / to stay here in/hide out in/ instead of going back to the lodge

Ok. I see. So something went wrong and his plan failed when the DARK SUIT COOP ends up inside of it instead of him?

So what went wrong?

We have discussed this before ...

DSC WAS CURSED BY THE EVIL DOPPELGANGER ARM TREE. DSC WAS HURLED OUT OF THE LODGE AT THE WRONG CO ORDINANCE AND TRAVELED THROUGH OTHER REALMS.

EVIL COOP/BOB was in his car BEING SICK, trying NOT to go back to THE LODGE and throwing up CREAMED CORN. Hewould not make it to MANUFACTURED DOUGIE in time- SO MIKE AND THE ARM TREE (who are looking out for and protecting DSC) HAD TO MAKE SURE DARK SUIT COOP HAD SOMEWHERE TO GO-DIDN'T THEY??

"When you get there...YOU will already BE there."

And how do we know COOP/BOB wouldn't also have ended up being just as handicapped as DSC is now???

seriously do you think BOB would even allowed that to happen?

why is this something we even need to know or even wonder about? what would be the point of a handicapped COOP/BOB ? How was EVIL going to flourish if that happened? What kind of story line/plot would that have made for?

@Invidia said:

But didn't MIKE also tell him he was MANUFACTURED FOR a PURPOSE and that's PURPOSE had now been SERVEVED before we see him MELT into the little GOLD BALL???

HOw would he KNOW this if he wasn't a part of it?

For the last time: Because he REALIZED IT/FIGURED IT OUT when he melted.

Just because one KNOWS about some thing does not make them a part of it - Don't you know about things that you ARE NOT A PART OF?

And when you say the D/C married to JANEY E do you mean the DARK SUIT COOP? The ORIGINAL COOP who was stuck in the LODGE for 25 YEARS?

who do you think I mean Invidia? WHO is that really with Janey-E?

WE ALL KNOW that is COOP who was stuck in the LODGE for 25 YEARS. You seem to be confusing yourself with that DARK SUIT COOP/coat color descriptions.

And just in case, for clarity purposes , I am talking about the Dougie that melted and turned back into a gold ball- not the same Dougie/Cooper married to Janey-E.

I think I made this clear enough, hence "And just in case, for clarity purposes".

I think you need to go back and watch previous episodes/clips if you are not remembering. You are constantly asking old questions that we have already discussed-Just look through some of the older threads.

What do you mean? That Mike wasn't aware of Dougie's existence? Why do you think that?

I did not say he wasn't aware of his existence- I said he was not aware of his having been manufactured.

Did you see that scene acf? When manufactured Dougie went back to the Lodge with MIKE/THE ONE ARMED MAN?

I already answered this : MIKE was surprised - he did not KNOW, until DOUGIE melted. MIKE obviously knew nothing about it.

And just in case, for clarity purposes , I am talking about the Dougie that melted and turned back into a gold ball- not the same Dougie/Cooper married to Janey-E.

I watched it twice but I didn't realize Mike was surprised. I will have your opinion in mind when I rewatch it.

Hey, Janey-E is a though, often scary, lady.

Being tough and scary does not even come close to trumping Black Lodge EVIL.

Why would EVIL COOP and/or BOB give a hoot owl about her amusement?

I was joking, obviously :)

The problem is DOUGIE was a MANUFACTURED BEING.

That also seems to mean he's NOT HUMAN (because HUMAN'S don't MELT and turn into LITTLE GOLD BALLS).

So how did THE GOLD COAT DOUGIE with the LIGHTER COLORED HAIR get inside of the LODGE???

And IF he's there, then HOW did the HUMAN BODY of DARK SUIT COOP take his place?

I know you said you are not actually watching the show, but now you ask questions like you have not even seen the clips and reviews that you say you are watching.

ALL OF THIS WAS SHOWN- HE CAME THROUGH THE THING THAT LOOKS LIKE AN ELECTRICAL SOCKET.

That also means the expression: WHEN YOU GET THERE ... YOU'LL ALREADY BE THERE makes no sense.

So you're saying LYNCH makes no sense, because I didn't write it.

Because either he's THERE or he's NOT THERE.

Its LYNCH- anything and everything is possible even if it's not making sense to you.

That's why he seems HANDICAPPED now.

My opinion, as I have stated before- he is HANDICAPPED because of being cursed AND because he is in the same realm as EVIL DOPPELGANGER COOP.

I have enjoyed talking with you Invidia, but like I stated, I will not keep rehashing old conversations that we have already had, it's frustrating and time consuming.

@Invidia said:

No. What one is saying is it's NOT CLEAR WHY the BODY of DOUGIE was created.

Okay- so WHY didn't you just say that one little sentence instead of ALL the other stuff? And we have talked about that before -WHY and WHO created Dougie .

NO it's not clear- MOST things on the show aren't (yet-hopefully) I can only give MY opinion/theory and it MAY be wrong (and most likely is since LYNCH did not consult me) - and I have said this many times weary

Yeah I'm glad this Diane was a manufactured being (what happened to the real Diane tough?) But most of all I'm glad Cooper is back :')

@Invidia you pointed a lot of important questions, but I don't think the show will provide solid (or at least straightforward) answers to a lot of them, but let's wait and see. Drive is a good movie (you should check out other movies by Nic Refn, like the Neon Demon and Bronson) although I don't see any resemblance with Pulp Fiction.

I guess most of our questions didn't get a straight answer (or any answer at all). I like the alternate time line explanation (summed up in the Indiewire like @Invidia shared) better than the "it was all just a dream" approach I read in another thread here at the boards. I'm not sure if I'm pleased with the season overall, I will have to watch the whole thing straight to build a stronger opinion. What do you guys think about the possibility of another season?

@Invidia said:

Since SHO said they're open to the idea of another installment of TP, my bet is they'll be another one.

And that's probably also the reason why it ends the way that it did, because LYNCH and FROST were also hoping to continue the story.

Hm to be honest I don't think there will be another season but most of all I'm not sure I want another season. Also, I don't think Lynch and Frost care if there is another season, I believe this was the subjective ending they wanted the story to have, otherwise why change the overall atmosphere of the show so much? I mean, The Return is practically a different show when you look back at seasons 1 + 2 of TP.

It's also interesting how LAURA DERN wears the same kind of a PINK ROBE as BETTY/DIANE from MD and NIKI/SUE from IE are seen wearing.

Only she becomes DIANE/LINDA this time in TP???

I think that's just an aesthetic feature of Lynch's work (one among many) overlapping with another Lynch recurrent topic, the dissociation of body and identity, or whatever you wanna call it depending on the context (a dream, alternate dimensions, and so on).

Wonder if we'll ever see her again in TP???

Keeping fingers crossed we will see her, because SHO will also GREEN LIGHT still another continuation of the show.

@Invidia I did not understand where you were trying to get into with that whole Audrey/Gilmore Girls info, but as I said I'm not sure I want to see more of TP.
