Discuss Project Runway

I love this show and hope this thread gets going. I can't wait for the first episode to determine my pick.

Oh my god, we meet again, Poetist. I haven't picked a favorite yet, but I think the wrong person was eliminated last night. I would have sent the boring gray dress with the hole in the butt, covered by a tacky applique, home. While ChaCha's was a mess, at least it had a sense of whimsy. I smiled when I saw it.

And can I just add, how did those twins get a job designing for Katy Perry? The orangey thing was terrible, and the white two piece could have been great if she hadn't paired it with 70's disco shorts.

I know! We should split our cable bill, because it doesn't make sense to pay double if we're watching the same dang shows. LOL.

LOL. I think the right person went home, because the only thing I like about Cha Cha is his name. I knew he would be a hot mess when he was featured on the Road to the Runway.

Maybe, they won some contest. If not, you would think if they were that well connected, they wouldn't need this show.

That orange sherbert swirl dress along w/the disco hot pants makes you wonder about these twins style.

I agree that ChaCha was the one to go. His design esthetic was never going to fit into this type of competition. However, I think that Brandon (I think that was his name) should not have been in the top three. I didn't find his design flattering or appealing at all. (And while I'm male, my wife agrees with me on that. And for the record, we don't always agree on our evaluations of designs.)

I agree. It was a simple wrap skirt with a poorly constructed crop top. I think top 2 should have been the Muslim woman and the the orange coat and pants with the interesting graphic. The winning look was well done but not my fave.

I think my fave is the woman who did the newspaper dress. She was the one who designed the white dress last week.

Overall, no one is a Laurence, imo, but this challenge hasn't lent much freedom to the designers.

This week I thought that cute little baby doll newspaper dress should have won. I didn't love the winning look as much as the judges did, it was too busy IMO. The right person was eliminated, though. He basically just draped a pea green garbage bag on his model. It was both lazy and tortured looking at the same time.

Was there any type of sewing? Seriously, it looked like he just wrapped a garbage bag around her.

He tried to make a formed bodice on the top. Didn't work.

My heart is with Kenya for the win, but I think they are going to give it to Brandon. Now, I like Brandon as well, and it will be interesting to see them go toe to toe in Fashion week.

I agree with Kenya for the win while Brandon and Betani round out the final three finalists.

I am surprised that they never brought up Betani hiding that hole in the dress. Heidi asked her was she hiding something, and Betani lied. I thought for sure that would resurface.

Week three runway was a big improvement over weeks one and two. Several really good looks. I think the judges mostly got it right. I loved the winning look, hands down the best. Brandon is really growing on me. I would probably have put Ayana in the top three again. I loved Kenya's look too, but I didn't really see how it fit the challenge. It just looked like a cute, really well made jacket and jumpsuit. My only disagreement was the white dancing dress in the top three. It looked like a costume that junior dancers might wear. I couldn't believe how much the judges loved it.

The right three were in the bottom (although that red jumpsuit made by one of the Twins was so boring, it could have been in the bottom instead of Kentaro, but I nitpick). I would have sent the yellow mullet dress home, though. The bottom two looks were both terrible, but the losing look could have been interesting with more time and better execution. They yellow mullet/skirt (skullet?) would not.

Me either! That was a total head scratcher.

Last night's episode was kind of a snooze. (Unintended bad joke there). Maybe it's just that sleepwear is not that interesting for a design challenge. I think they picked the right top three and winner. The worst look of the episode was not even on one of the models, it was sheer shorts over tighty whiteys dude (Andy?). Seriously? Maybe he should have gone home for that plus his bad design. The losing designer seems like a great guy, but he was lucky to survive last week with that mullet dress. He was the correct person to eliminate. Did he seriously think there was anything sexy about his look? I loved the expression on Heidi's face when he said that.

Aaron. Yeah those were bad.

My wife and I actually liked the sleepwear challenge. And for once we agreed on the bottom and top three. We would have been ok with either Michael or Kentaro winning, though we liked Michael's a bit better. Either of the bottom two would have been acceptable to us as well.
