Just as I was finally getting over Bobby being dead and gone, they seem to have brought him back. I thought it was OK to have alt-Bobby in that other dimension, it was kind of a fun, nostalgic callback. But now that they brought alt-Bobby back to their own dimension he seems to be settling into the old Bobby character (even if he can't remember how to spell DNA). It feels kind of hackneyed. What's next, they bring back Crowley too?
I'd rather see forward progress instead of circling back around. A good adventure story requires real sacrifice, else the victories are cheapened. I don't want to root for alt-Bobby to die, but one way or another, he needs to go so the characters can grow.

Nature of TV. Popular characters never really die, especially in a genre show like this where they can magically be brought back. I'd rather have him back this way than the usual once a season ep they'd bring him back for. The call to heaven ep was ridicules.

If you feel that way should Sam and Dean also remain dead they sure both died enough.

The show explained seasons ago, back when Kripke was running it, that while Sam and Dean had been killed several times, they were brought back because of the importance of their final mission - Sam to be the suit for Lucifer and Dean to be the suit for Michael in the final apocalyptic battle. While that went down differently than planned (mostly because the CW wanted more seasons than Kripke's five season and done), just a few seasons ago the new Death rep explained Dean could not remain dead, as much as she wanted to keep him dead, because of a greater purpose. What that is remains unknown. So in show "logic" the brothers not dying for good makes "sense".

And now they will bring back daddy for the 300th episode: (https://www.google.se/amp/collider.com/jeffrey-dean-morgan-returning-to-supernatural/amp/)
I'm not complaining though, the more JDM the better.

Did anyone notice the nod to JDM I believe in the season before last when he began playing Negan on The Walking Dead? Dean and Sam returned from a hunt and one of the weapons Dean brought back was a baseball bat with barb wire around the top just like Negan's beloved bat Lucille!
This sounds like an epic idea bigger than one 42 minute (what we get without commercials) episode. And I am sure John's "dick behavior" will be explained as him trying to protect his sons and or prepare them for their crazy world. If his now minimal use on TWD means more time to do Supernatural maybe we'll see an arc instead of a one off?

Haha yeah that was awesome, fandom goes bananas every time TV shows subtly recognizes one another. I'm also a huge fan of crossovers if they're done well. DC actually pulled this last one off.
I don't know about minimal use, watch this mid-season trailer for TWD: (https://youtu.be/9csVitGzUIs) Looks like the comic readers will be very happy in February.

Yes I saw the scene in the trailer... but I do not know how influential Negan will be with no saviors and the Whisperers now being the Big Bad. For all we know he already filmed his scenes for the 300th episode (that is done a lot where an actor films scenes alone before-hand and then is spliced in with body doubles for over the shoulder shots to make them seem like he is interacting with the cast when actually they did not meet up - it originate I believe with Fred MacMurray and the old show "My Three Sons". MacMurry was only available for two weeks, so every scene he was in from the season had to be shot in two weeks! Often no one else could be there so... a technique still in use was invented).

What does "Derp" mean? Is that the new "Duh"? or "Dho"?? We said "Duh" all the time in the 70's to designate a stupid comment, a stupid action... just anything stupid. Anyway.... I agree with the OP regarding adventure\drama. For all it's flaws. TWD never failed to deliver on the death. Heck they just killed Jesus!!
