If it's any consolation the actor who played Crowley said he had zero intention of returning to the show. But I agree. Shows like this lose their edge when no one can die. At least no one who is popular (unless they do not renew their contract).

As for Dad? They kinda paid tribute to his new character last season when Dean was shown carrying a barbed wire baseball bat after a hunt! I doubt he'll be back as AMC has him sewn up for God knows how long.
