That whole wasteland in alternate universe is the supposed aftermath of Michael and Lucifer duking it out. To have alt-Michael and Lucy throw fists at each other was both hilarious and sad.

I like that TPTB are bringing back Castiel BUT how do you bring someone back that has no corporeal body? Cas was an angel but he still had a 'human' body that was cremated, unless that wasn't Cas on the pyre?

I have two theories: 1) Maybe the alternate reality Jimmy is available 2) Jack has the ability to create a brand new identical vessel for Cas. For all we know Jack just brought Cas back into existence, but since his powers aren't fine-tuned Cas is stuck in The Empty.

I feel like it'll be #2 or some version of it. Jack's eyes did that glowy eye thing then an immediate cut to Castiel? For better or worse, this show isn't exactly subtle.

EDITED TO ADD: Cas has lost his human body before (Swan Song) only Chuck brought him back. Therefore the loss of his body isn't a permanent death depending on some of the players involved. I get the impression Jack is supposed to be right below Chuck in terms of power.

I haven't always been a 'loyal' viewer, I watched the first few seasons then something happened that pissed (can't remember what) me off and I only caught a few episodes. I think that was around seasons 5 & 6?
