Discuss Salem's Lot

So it seems after all the vampires still existed after the house burned down. So basically they elected a new master to lead them or there was another waiting to fill the void. I wonder why they left that on a cliff hanger? The sequel doesn't even connect to this film and it seems odd to leave unfinished bussiness

This was not handled well by the film. How did Susan get 'turned' into a vampire? If she was in the house, then Barlow did not have the chance to turn her. Ben and Mark destroyed Barlow before he could get to Susan. Another thing was why didn't Ben look for her before he burned the house down?

These are a couple of things that are definite plot holes in the film that the book handled much better.

In the extended film didn't he say sorry Susan as the Sun had went down and the vamps were waking up?

Still the book handled her turn very well. Mark heard that evil laughter and Susan screaming. Very chilling

I believe that took place in the 2004 effort, not the one from 1979. I have the 183 minute DVD and I don't recall anything like that. I'm not saying that it did not happen, only that I don't remember it. I'll have to rewatch it, but I'll wait until after the eclipse.

Did you get a chance to yet Gary? Also how was it for you? We for to see half of the eclipse

I watched it today and you are correct. It was in the 1979 mini-series. I enjoyed the film, although my timing on watching it could have been better, as I have a ton of housework to do prior to my brother's coming in from out of state.

Just in time. I finished it again today and wanted to see what you thought about it
