Stark contrast between the 2 lead actors/characters.
Paul Walter Hauser's (Larry) performance is probably the best I've seen in a while.
However I'm not so sure what to make of Taron Egerton's (Jimmy). On the one hand his character is scripted to be that way (smart, handsome, manipulative, assertive, poster child of an "alpha male", has to play this big bro role re: Larry, etc...); on the other hand, to me he comes across as too robotic and caricatural. I don't know how much this has to do with his acting skills or even Lehane's touch, but it gets to the point where, when he's unequivocally meant to show "weaknesses" (family, reaction to Larry describing his murders, solitary confinement, etc...), it doesn't feel quite right.
